Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 22 years old, and about a week ago, I experienced my first anxiety attack. I had been stressed all day. Two days ago, I woke up with pain in my left side, under my breast. It was on and off during the day. Finally, nighttime came, and I could not sleep. I had a tingly feeling in my arm and thought I was going to have a heart attack. The following morning, I went to the ER. I had an ECG and chest x-ray, and everything is normal. The doctor said it could be due to stress. She diagnosed me with paresthesia and pain in the left extremity. The next day I still feel the same; I feel sore. Could this be stress or something worse? I still get scared. Or it could be a heart attack? I am freaking out.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Left-sided chest pain should not be ignored since you have already got cardiac causes to rule out. Then the main reason behind it could be stress. Try to relax and de-stress. Avoid heavy meals like oily, fatty, and junk food. Please answer these questions. Are you able to sleep fine at night? And any night sweating? Is urine normal? Any pain or burning sensation while passing? If you are a female, check it with a gynecologist once and get an abdomen ultrasound and follow these instructions. Take a simple, healthy basic nutritional diet. Add fresh fruit, fresh juice, and salad to your diet. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Avoid alcohol and non-veg. Exercise, walk, do yoga as health permits and start gradually. Take a break from your work and routine. Go for fresh air in the evenings when it is pleasant. Consult a physician. Get investigated, including a complete hemogram, thyroid function, blood sugar, blood pressure, and ECG (Electrocardiogram).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
