Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old woman suffering from sharp pain in the chest and left arm socket, jaw pain, and pain while breathing. I have been discharged twice from the emergency room and the pains remain. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I have gone through the reports you have attached (the attachment was removed to protect the patient's identity). All reports are normal including Troponin T. Troponin T is specific to rule out heart attack. Since it is also negative, the chances of heart attack are very very less. Her age is also not favoring heart-related symptoms. So most likely these symptoms are due to musculoskeletal pain, stress, or anxiety related. So please let me know any family history of heart disease or any associated perspiration. Does this pain last for a whole day or increase with movements or in a specific position it gets worsen? Please reply to my answers to the above asked questions so that I can guide you better.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for getting back to us. She has no history of heart disease. She has not been sweating lately. The pain is for 24 hours. When she is laying down in certain positions it hurts. When she walks up and or goes down stairs her breathing causes pain.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

So the possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely. Are vitamin D3 and B12 levels checked? Were any vitamin supplements taken? Is any painkiller or any medication given for these current symptoms? Please reply to my answers to the above-asked questions so that I can guide you better.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

They did not check her vitamin levels. What would that test show or should we do it? She does not take supplements or vitamins. She was prescribed Ibuprofen 800.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, blood reports for vitamin D3 and b 12 levels are required. If deficiency then she will need oral supplements (tablets). So get blood tests for serum vitamin D3 and B12 levels. Ibuprofen is painkiller. It will help with musculoskeletal pain. Has she started this medicine? Is there any improvement after taking this? Please reply to me with answers to the above-asked questions so that I can guide you better.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
