What are the side effects of Mezol eye drops?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My eyes normally are very dry and get red too often. The doctor once gave me Mezol eye drop and it becomes white instantly. So, can I use it regularly whenever eyes are red or not? What can be the side effects of Mezol eye drops?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Mezol (Chlorpheniramine maleate, Methylcellulose, and Nafazoline) has no long-term side effects, but as it contains preservatives, I advise you to use it only when your eyes are red and not on a regular basis. Refresh Liquigel is a lubricant which is preservative free and can be used on a daily basis four times a day.
