Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had high cholesterol and triglycerides for the past two years. I have done a lipid profile test, and the results are as follows:

  1. Cholesterol is 236 mg/dL.
  2. Triglycerides is 172 mg/dL.
  3. LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is 162 mg/dL.
  4. HDL (high-density lipoprotein) is 43 mg/dL.

I am not currently on any medication. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. Your lipid profile is not within the normal range. As you know, if you cannot consistently maintain these levels within the normal limits, you may face future problems. To control it, I suggest you follow these guidelines:

  1. Diet: Avoid spicy, fried, and fatty foods. Eliminate free sugar in tea and coffee and restrict your intake of sweets. Consume plenty of green vegetables, salads, and one seasonal fruit daily.
  2. Physical Activities: Engage in 45 minutes of walking daily. Aim to maintain an ideal body weight.
  3. Medication: Take Tab Rosuvastatin 10 mg daily after dinner for two months.

I suggest you consult a specialist, talk with them, and take the medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
