Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had a raspy throat, sometimes a dry cough, sinusitis, and post nasal drip all my life, but I have been suffering from this throat condition for a long time which developed into a dry cough that is not consistent, but only sometimes. The tickle in the throat or a feeling of irritation like inflammation deep in the throat. I went to a healthcare center, and they tell me they will treat it with Loratadine and the generic Flonase. I have never experienced anything this long. I started taking the medicines about two weeks ago, and there have been better days. However, it is worse in the morning.

Is this possible for this to happen when it never has before?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You seem to have chronic pharyngitis secondary to postnasal drip. It may be due to a longstanding allergy. The most common cause is household dust. It would help if you frequently change your curtains and doormats. Avoid pollen and other allergens. For now, you may continue loratadine (10 milligrams Loratadine).

Thank you.
