Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a rash on my penis. There is no discomfort, no discharge, and no itch. Sexually active with my wife, who is asymptomatic. She is also expecting a child. I used Clotrimazole cream and only had one dosage of Fluconazole. It does not go away. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is due to infection, and it will take time to cure. I advise you to avoid intercourse throughout therapy; otherwise, it will return. You must abstain from intercourse for two weeks. Only then will it mend. I would recommend using an ointment containing Clotrimazole and Betamethasone for five days. Please elaborate on your symptoms. Is there any itchiness or burning in it? Is there any kind of fluid discharge in it? Please notify me so that I can prescribe you the appropriate medication.

Revert with the answer to assist further.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is a fungal infection, most likely candida. Still, a bacterial infection like streptococcus may generate a rash, so do not worry. It will go away. Clotrimazole alone will not assist. Therefore, I recommend using an ointment mix of clotrimazole and baclomethasone for five days. Avoid any sexual activity until it heals, which will take five to seven days. Fluconazole will be less effective. Please let me know after five days if you use this ointment.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
