Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a problem with cold feet and hands. Most of the days, in the afternoon-evening time, my palm and feet turn freezing cold. Also, I feel very much sensitive to cold weather. What is the reason for this? I had checked my RBC long before when a doctor checked my eyes and said I seemed anemic. But my RBC was normal then. Kindly advise on this issue.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from palm and feet turning freezing cold. You feel very much sensitive to cold.

Reasons for your palm and feet turn freezing may be due to DM (diabetes mellitus), lupus, scleroderma, thyroid disorder, poor circulation due to heart disease, anemia, nervous system disorders, anxiety or stress, etc.

Some investigations like RBS (random blood sugar), thyroid function tests, ECG (electrocardiography), Echo, CBC (complete blood count), ANA (antinuclear antibody), anti ds-DNA, etc., should be done to find out the exact causes for your suffering and then treat them accordingly.

In the meantime, wear insulated warm hand gloves and socks for cold palms and feet. Fill a bathtub or basin with warm water and soak the palm and feet. Use a heating pad or hot water bottle at the foot of the bed.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
