Hello doctor,
I recently took a CBC. My RBC count is 5.74, hemoglobin is 17.2, hematocrit is 51.5, platelet count is 131, lymphocytes are 47 and other elements are normal. Could you please suggest possible reasons for this? Is there a way I could approach this?

Hereby, I am giving you my opinion regarding your case. Your platelet count is slightly low and lymphocytes are high. It can be seen in viral infection. But provide your clinical complaint if present and send full CBC report for giving more comment.

Your platelet counts are slightly low and lymphocytosis is present (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Activated lymphocytes also are seen. So, it can be a viral infection in which the platelet count is low because of destruction. Because of destruction giant platelet that is macro platelet present. Symptomatic management is done for that. Kindly mention your clinical complaint if present.
Your cholesterol level is slightly high. For that just now no need to take any medication. Only lifestyle measures have to be taken. Take the low-fat diet and more fruits and green leafy vegetables. Regular exercise will be beneficial. Drink more water. Mention any clinical complaint if present. Take care.

I am diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B and taking Tenofovir Alafenamide 25 mg daily. Is this the reason for CBC being affected?

Yes, hepatitis B is a form of viral infection. It is a hepatotropic virus and affects the liver. It can affect CBC and lymphocytosis seems to be because of hepatitis B infection here. Take medicine regularly under the observation of your gastroenterologist. High-fatty foods should be restricted as your cholesterol is high. Sugar cane juice, apple juice, orange juice, etc., will be beneficial.
Your bilirubin is also slightly high because of liver infection by the hepatitis B virus. Repeat CBC after a few days or as per doctor's advice. Take care.
