Usually, a glycerin suppository is enough if it is uncomplicated constipation. You can give it a try. However, if your mother suffers from frequent constipation or a recent change in bowel habits, other than just treating it, you must get her thoroughly evaluated. But if it is infrequent constipation, a glycerin suppository should do.
