Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had my periods on the 31st of last month. Then, I had sex on the 26th with protection. I also used emergency pill. When will I get my next periods? Are there any chances of pregnancy? Please explain me.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
First of all, the word protection is not clear for me. Have you used condom or pill or both? If you used both, then the chances of being pregnant is very less. Now, regarding your next period, it will depend on your menstrual pattern. If emergency pills are used, then they cause irregular period.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
Protection means both condom and I-pill. I have generally 28 day cycle with five to seven days of bleeding. I have heard having sex on safe days that is start of the period and end of the cycle is considered as safe. So, I intend to make it on the 26th of this month. Please advise about the chance of pregnancy. When will I get my periods after taking an I-pill?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
As your expected period is on 28th to 29th of this month, the chances of pregnancy are negligible as you are using both condom and I-pill. Just for information that no contraceptive method gives 100 % protection and that is true for even permanent method like ligation. So, it is not possible to predict pregnancy chances precisely. As I have mentioned earlier the chance is very less. I-pill can cause bleeding within one to two days of intake.
