Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have just discovered that I have mild corectopia. More tests are being done to find out what the cause is and what the treatment should be. My question is, will television and computer screens make the condition worse or have no effect?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Corectopia is a genetic condition of the eye. But it is not the reason for your eye strain in front of a computer screen. To reduce strain, first, recheck your glasses. Then follow the rules which are, work in a well-lighted environment. The main light should come from behind your head. Every 20 minutes, remove your eyes from the screen for 20 seconds and see a very distant object. Every 45 minutes, take a five minutes break. Make a rule whenever you press space or enter, blink your eye. Work on an HD (high definition) screen or retina display. Use refreshing tears and eye drops six times a day regularly.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
