Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a question about plastic surgery to remove excess skin. About six months back I got a sleeve gastrectomy and lost over 100 lbs. I was 372 lbs; now I am 257 lbs. I have a lot of excess skin around my abdominal area. Now I have seen stories about getting skin removal and also losing more weight.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
That is a really good change you have got after the surgery. Definitely, you can go for the excess skin removal surgeries, which includes tummy tuck, brachioplasty, thigh lift, butt lift and mastopexy to get the skin in good shape.
But we do recommend that the weight reduction should come to a static position and be maintained for around six months to proceed with the skin excision procedures. That will help in avoiding the same procedures again due to skin laxity with further weight reduction.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
