Can frenuloplasty help correct a curved penis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a downward curve in my penis. It appears that when I am erect, the raphe on the underside prevents it from being straight. While it is not painful, it does impact my sex life. I find it difficult to engage in certain sexual positions, such as missionary, due to the tension and sensitivity on the underside. Are there any recommendations you can offer aside from surgery to address this issue?

Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please try to relax and not worry. It would be helpful if you could send me images of your penis. Based on your description, it sounds like you might be dealing with a tight frenulum. There is no conservative or medical management available for this condition. I would suggest considering frenuloplasty, which is a minor surgical procedure. There is no need to be fearful, as it is generally quite straightforward.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the response.

Here are the photos.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed all the images you sent (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity). It appears that you have a congenital curvature of the penis, starting from the base and extending through the mid-shaft. It would be best to consult a urologist for a second opinion. Have them examine you clinically and show them these images. The condition can be corrected with a minor surgical procedure, so there is no need to worry.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
