Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had pain in my vagina about two nights ago, but I brushed it off. Today I had some spotting (very little light red blood), and I noticed I had two dark spots on my vulva. They are small and flat and dark brown. I also had sex last night (about 12 hours ago from now), but it was with a condom. I was wondering what this means.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is difficult to make a comment over the possible petechiae (dark spots) over your vulval region. However, bleeding or spotting per vaginum post vaginal pain is likely to be your start of menses but as you had sex 12 hours back so due to rise in endorphins and progesterones post sexual activity the bleeding would have stopped. The cause of vulval spots could be frictional injury during intercourse or foreplay, now exhibiting as local small petechiae hemorrhage or hematoma. It would be best if you can send a picture of the lesion for an opinion and to rule out any STD (sexually transmitted disease) if you are suspecting one.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
