Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am concerned about a black ring around my lips. I used to lick my lips a lot during the winter, and it would get red all around my lips, and then it turned black and did not go away. What can I do to get rid of it? It does not itch anymore. It just bothers me. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. From your descriptions and given picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), it can be PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) around your lip. I would suggest the lip cream with the following. Common ingredients include Kojic Dipalmitate, Niacinamide, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, and Octocrylene. Apply the cream twice a day using the tip of a finger or directly by the tube. The cream should be applied in a circular or back-and-forth movement for even coverage over the lips. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
