Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a c6 and c7 bulge disc, pushing on derma c34 and c45, fusion degeneration in c5 and c6, small bulges on c2 and c3, arm numbness and pain. Chest pain feels like my heart is fluttering loss of strength in my left arm. Kindly suggest. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This cervical pain can cause pain to radiate to the upper limbs, after reviewing the report or image (attachment removed to protect patient's identity) I suggest you do the following also correlate with clinical findings:

1. Avoid lifting heavy weights.

2. Avoid arching your back, instead bend your knees to pick up something from the floor.

3. Avoid sitting for long hours.

4. Avoid two-wheeler rides.

5. Improve your posture while sitting. Try to sit up with your back straight.

6. Try to get up from your chair every 20 minutes, take a quick walk around, and then continue working. Always sitting on a chair with back support.

7. Do not get up suddenly from a sleeping position, rather turn to the side and then get up.

8. Take bed rest only if you have severe pain.

9. Do hot fomentations over the affected area at least twice a day.

10. Apply Oxalgin gel (Diclofenac sodium and Methyl Salicylate) locally, twice a day.

11. Take a tablet. Pregabalin (Hydroxypropyl cellulose, Lauryl sodium sulfate) 75 mg at night before meals for 15 days daily.

12. Tablet. Ibuprofen (Isobutylphenyl propionic acid) 400 mg twice a day, after food for ten days.

13. Tablet. Rabeprazole (Hypromellose, Sodium Hydroxide) 20 mg for ten days before food.

14. Tablet. Shelcal (Calcium and Vitamin D3) 500 mg, before breakfast for 30 days.

15. Tablet. Cholecalciferol (D-shine) 60000 IU once daily for 10 days and once a month for 11 months.

16. Go for physiotherapy and do core strengthening exercises with the assistance of a physiotherapist like neck rotation, shoulder shrugs, and rotations. Start physiotherapy once the pain relieves.

Take these tablets only if you are not allergic to them and do not take these tablets if you are a known case of bronchial asthma. Jogging, running, and weight-lifting may aggravate back pain. I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
