Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My cycle is about 25 days. Me and my husband got intimated on day 18 using a condom. We are worried that the semen had fallen near to me while taking it out. Soon, I took a morning-after pill within an hour. Can you please tell me if there is any chance of conceiving? Also, please let me know the symptoms of pregnancy. Today is my date, but I have not gotten my period yet. Please help me. I am really worried as we got married just two months before.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The morning-after pill is an emergency contraceptive pill and is very effective at around 97% if taken within an hour after unprotected intercourse. So, I am hoping that your period will come in a couple of days.

1. If UPT (urine pregnancy test) is positive, then you need the advice of a local doctor for the MTP pill (medical termination of pregnancy pill).

2. Also, I suggest Depo-Provera (Medroxyprogesterone) for contraception.

Thank you.

Investigations to be done

Pregnancy test after two days from morning sample of urine.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your answer.

As you suggested I have taken pregnancy test this morning and got negative result. But, I am experiencing little tenderness in breasts and some vaginal discharge (not white). What can this be?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If your pregnancy test is negative now, then wait for the period. These may be signs of onset of period. If period comes, then it is fine. If it does not come, then you should repeat pregnancy test after four days.

Thank you.
