Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am having a delay in my periods. My age is 43 to 44 years and having issues for the past 2 to 3 years. The doctor says have hormones but I am not taking it. I am not having periods for the last 8 to 9 months. The doctor told me to take Clime, a hormone. I am afraid of there side effects as cancer is the main side effect. Having bad moods, poor libido, depression, and fear of death are my feelings.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It seems you have a hormonal imbalance or premature menopause. It is better to have investigations and then discuss here or with your local doctor. Your symptoms are more towards premature menopause like loss of libido, depression, mood variations, anxiety, etc. Have FSH (follicular stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) level if you do not want to take medications for bleeding induction. Otherwise, it is better to have tablet Primolut N 10 mg twice daily for seven days and then wait for menstrual bleed for 1 to 2 weeks and then have blood tests on day two (serum testosterone, serum progesterone, serum prolactin, serum insulin, FSH/LH ratio and thyroid function test). These will check your menopausal status, hormonal imbalance, the cause of amenorrhea, etc. Have a transvaginal scan as well. Have results of all the tests and discuss here or with local gynecologist. Long term hormonal contraceptives have side effects but to regulate cycles and hormonal imbalance you can have for three months only cyclically (combined oral contraceptive pills).
