Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had my periods on the fourth of last month. But last month, I had taken Unwanted 72 on 8th that is on my fifth day of the period. And around 18th, I had brown discharge and red streaks of blood coming out with mucus, and it stopped after three days. This month I did an USG, and I am not pregnant and completely fine, but I do not understand when to expect my periods, and should I take any medicine to induce it? Would it come along, and when can I expect my period?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you have taken Unwanted 72, you are likely to experience vaginal discharge, spotting, or irregular bleeding, and your next cycle may get disturbed, which may occur earlier or later from the usual dates. However, the menstrual cycles will get normalized in one to two months. But if you experience heavy menstrual flow, you need to consult a gynecologist personally. Pregnancy is unlikely if you have taken Unwanted within 72 hrs of unprotected sexual intercourse. So just wait patiently for your periods. If it does not occur within this month, then you need a complete hormonal evaluation.

Take care.
