Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I induced my period last month due to its delay after confirming no pregnancy. This month as well period is delayed by a week, but the urine pregnancy test says negative. Should I induce periods every month? I am trying to get pregnant after taking treatment for hypothyroidism. I have been taking Levothyroxine 25 mg. I was diagnosed with PCOD last year after using contraceptive pills for six months. Later, the ovaries came to the normal size, and I was tried to induce ovulation, but it did not succeed. And the doctor asked me to try naturally after getting my thyroid balanced. But still, my periods are getting delayed. Please do comment.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If HSG (hysterosalpingography) is normal and you have irregular periods. Then have to try a different dose of medicines to induce ovulation and do an ovulation study. If required, then injection for healing ovulation can be done. Intercourses after ovulation for five days and endometrium support hormonal medicines will help you out. If no pregnancy, then periods will occur, but for this treatment, you have to go to a gynecologist and get ultrasound sonography for an ovulation study in the middle of the cycle. Wait for one or two months due to the current pandemic. Then consult a nearby gynecologist for further investigation and treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
