Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 18 years old female, 137 lbs, and on no medications. I have had irregular periods since I was 13. The longest I have gone without a period was three months. I have had multiple negative pregnancy tests. I have not had my period since last month and I am not pregnant. I am worried about my health although this has happened before.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Please answer the following questions:
1. Putting on weight, and unable to lose that?
2. Acne?
3. Facial hair increased?
4. Hair loss?
5. Thick hairs on chest, back, thighs, arms, belly?
6. Any known hormonal issues?
7. Any long-term medication taken?
8. Sedentary lifestyle?
9. Are your parents diabetic or prediabetic?
First few years of menarche can give you irregular periods, and that is normal as your hormonal axis is not matured enough to have a cycle, but by 15 years, it should generally be fine which in your case is not. You could be suffering from some hormonal imbalance. Work out the following:
1. A balanced diet containing loads of yellow fruits and green vegetables.
2. Regular physical exercise for 30 minutes to keep heart rate above 100 during the activity.
3. Add cinnamon and turmeric to your diet.
These small changes can bring a lot of difference. Do it for the next three months. I can assure, you will feel the difference in a month but continue it. You also need to get USG pelvis done to rule out polycystic ovarian syndrome.
