Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had dengue fever. I have recovered now. People say if I am affected again, it is a life threat, and I cannot get a life again, more chances of death. My parents see an alliance with me. So I feel very panicky. So please help me, doctor.

  1. Will it affect me a second time?
  2. Can I get my life back?
  3. Can I go for marriage?

Please send an answer.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Dengue, once you get you are immune to that particular strain of virus, but if it gets you a second time (a different strain of virus) it might become DHF (dengue hemorrhagic fever), which is life-threatening.

Do you know you must keep your immunity strong and stay hydrated for prompt recovery?

Risk is high in DHF, but that does not mean you have to fear your whole life, as life and death are certain possibilities no one can avoid. What we have to do is go on living and giving our best and doing our duties well. But it is not always necessary. You will be affected the second time. So just relax. You can marry, You can Have a good life and do whatever makes you happy.

Just relax. Have faith in yourself and God. Go ahead, live the life to its fullest. Help the needy. Take care of everyone around. You would not have time to panic for yourself.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
