Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. I received health care through my college which ends soon. I am not sure dental insurance is covered as they do not require that. I am concerned about my far back right tooth. I have never had my teeth pulled even after braces at age 14. My tooth has been falling out in little and big chunks. Since the past two days, more have fallen out and the front side is exposed. The broken piece did have light black color on it. It is almost two years now since it has been falling apart with no pain. A tooth or two towards the front of my mouth seems to get bigger where food gets caught in, this is annoying me now. Last year, part of my front bottom tooth chipped off, but my gums must have grown over it to protect it as I no longer have a hole there. I am seeking advice and recommendations on dental care packages, the price for being treated, or if I need antibiotics as I strongly oppose swallowing any sized pill, what is happening to my tooth as it continues to decay and fall out, the consequences, and more information.

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. As per your history, it looks like you are having multiple carious lesions. The condition of one tooth looks grim, a grossly decayed. You need multiple restorations and extraction of one tooth. To get a better opinion and prognosis you need to upload certain photographs of your chipped teeth. Mostly gingival diseases are covered under insurance not all the dental disease. In case you need any procedure from an oral surgeon it may also be covered. The money needed for the treatment depends upon the procedure and the institution, where treatment is done.

I hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
