What is the best treatment for black spots on teeth?

Hello doctor,

I just went to the dentist, and it turned out that I have had two black spots on my teeth. These have been there for eight years. They cleaned my teeth to stop it from spreading but did not fill it in. So I still have the black spots. They said if they fill it now, it will only get worse. And they might do it after six months. What is the best I can do now? Should I resign from this dentist and go to another one so they could fill it?

You have not sent a picture with the question. In most cases, the dentist cleans the cavity and fills it immediately. And this is the universal method of cavity filling. I do not understand why your dentist refuses to fill it immediately while it is initial caries without pain (according to you). Six months is a long duration, so I suggest you see another dentist for a second opinion.
