Hello doctor,

About a week ago, I got four fillings. Two on each side of my top teeth. Previously, I did not have any sensitivity at all. Now, a week later, when I should not be feeling any effects of the fillings, I am sensitive to cold, my teeth ache, the whole roof of my mouth is sensitive and one side near fillings is swollen and has red spots. I also currently have a sore throat with it. Biting hurts and everything is super sensitive. I also within the week before the fillings, had a new sexual partner. So I am questioning if it is related to that. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The tooth with new fillings hurt because of a slight excess in height. This can be easily corrected when you visit back your dentist. Secondly, from the pictures you have attached I find it to be oral ulcers (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It can occur because of any vitamin deficiencies or stress. If oral sex was a reason, the ulcers should appear deep into the soft palate. Hence, I suspect it to be due to other reasons. I advise you to apply Dentogel 15 gm thrice a day with good oral hygiene to get rid of the pain and to heal them. The gel will make the area numb for a while so do not panic. Also, it will give a slightly bitter taste. I also advise eating whole nutritious food rich in vitamins instead opting for fast food. Drink plenty of water. Avoid hot and spicy food. Following all these things will promote the healing of ulcers.
