Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have consulted four dentists with my x-rays. After years of failed root canals, cavities, gum disease and eventually failed four tooth bridge, I am now seeking implants that will hold a hybrid bridge to replace my upper arch. I need six implants with a full contour Zirconium prosthesis. . Three of the dentists had almost identical treatment plan suggestions, as described above. The fourth included sinus lifts, which was surprising and the others did not mention anything beyond bone grafting. The sinus lift is a big addition. So, I am hoping to get an unbiased opinion about the sinus lifts. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

After seeing the x-ray (attachment removed to protect patient identity), it seems that you have a low sinus floor level on the left side of the picture of the x-ray. I cannot say whether it is the left or right side of yours through this picture. It might be helpful if you had sinus lift, the placement of the implant is possible at the exact position. But, I believe the implant can be placed after changing its position slightly, so that it does not come directly below the lowest point of sinus. Personally, I would suggest you go without sinus lift as it can cause further complications like sinusitis or headache in the future. Still, the decision lies with the dentist whether he is comfortable without the lift or need to do.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
