Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am going through a lot of mental health problems. Symptoms are depression, slow thinking, processing speed, hopelessness, avoiding people, dullness, problems coping with new situations, loss of spontaneity, fear of new things and marriage, difficulty thinking and understanding, mental deterioration, difficulty with self-care, and a lack of restraint.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You seem to be suffering from depression with an intensity between moderate to severe. A proper clinical assessment is essential. Is this the first time you had symptoms like this? Is there a family history of depression or any other illness?

Start regular exercise, write a diary about whatever thoughts are troubling you, and do some breathing exercises and Jacobson's progressive muscle relaxation exercise. You also need to consult a local psychiatrist to assess the issue in detail and then start with medication and therapy sessions.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you for the response, doctor.

I have had symptoms for the last three years. I assumed it would get better on its own, but my mental health is not improving. I am the only one experiencing symptoms in my family. With time, all my symptoms have gotten worse.

Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In my opinion, I suggest you consult a psychiatrist. Neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine control the mood, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behavior. Unless those neurotransmitters get balanced, your problem may not improve. They get balanced mainly with medicines.

I hope you found this helpful.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
