How can a person overcome the feeling of guilt, shame, anger, anxiety and grief?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

On a regular day, I have many problems with guilt, shame, anger, anxiety, and grief. I think it is because I could not achieve my ambition. Also, I had childhood trauma from my father's death and seeing myself burdened with responsibilities from a very young age. Right now, I am trying to build my life again. I am going to therapy and taking medicines. However, I have serious issues with maturity, social connections, and self-awareness. I want to overcome these problems. Can you suggest some solution for this? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Symptoms like guilt and problems of acceptance occur due to some mood disturbance and, most likely, depression. Due to responsibilities at an early age and poor support, you developed mood disturbance. Anxiety is part of these symptoms. But most individuals like you become very strong with time. So there is no need to get worried about that. You should follow a healthy lifestyle to stay healthy. Increased social interaction also helps to improve frontal lobe functioning.

Thank you.
