How to get rid of depression and emptiness?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have suffered from depression for the past many years. I have had a couple of suicide attempts. I have never taken therapy or any kind of helping pills, but I did talk with someone who was an unqualified therapist for a couple of weeks. Then, he moved away to another city and we could not continue. Currently, he is the reason for my depression. He left without saying anything. I had to find out on my own.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

The emptiness that you are experiencing is a symptom of depression. Always remember that people who treat you well will not be with you always. It is just a doctor-patient relationship and anything more than that is a strict no. It can increase the severity of your depression. I suggest you resort to a new hobby, and spend time with friends. Focus on your studies at present. I also suggest you take a tablet of Zosert (Sertraline) 50 milligrams twice daily for a period of two weeks.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
