Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am concerned about my health. Since the beginning of this year, I have been feeling extremely depressed, and it has not improved. I have tried reaching out to several people to discuss it, and they have all suggested seeing a doctor. I have been having trouble sleeping, and even when I manage to sleep, I oversleep. I have lost interest in my hobbies because I simply do not have the energy to do anything, affecting my ability to complete my work. Lately, these problems have become more frequent, and it has reached a point where I am starting to isolate myself from my family and friends. I want to understand why I feel this way or what might be causing it. I would greatly appreciate your opinion on this matter. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

I have read your query and can understand your concerns.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand your concerns about feeling depressed.

Depression has become quite prevalent in society, yet only a few people seek professional help. I am glad to hear that you are taking care of your mental health.

The symptoms you described, such as low mood, sleep disturbances, low energy, loss of interest in enjoyable activities, and social withdrawal, are all indicative of depression.

Fortunately, depression is highly treatable with antidepressant medications like Escitalopram (escitalopram oxalate) or Sertraline (sertraline hydrochloride). These medications can aid in your early recovery. Additionally, counseling and behavioral therapies are crucial components of treatment alongside medication.

I recommend visiting a psychiatrist nearby for counseling and medication.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
