Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am very sad and anxious most of the time. Lost motivation and most happiness, which has probably been gone for a while. Was on Zoloft for about five months, but it did not do anything. It was only on 50 mg/day so maybe that is why. I do not really want to cope with medicine because in the long run its just a mask for the way I feel. I am 23 years old and have a 10-month-old just some background. I quit my job because I did not feel mentally strong enough and would cry at work every day. I have been out of work for eight months and am scared to go back, which is also contributing to me being completely broke and contributing to me feeling worse about myself.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

At your age, depression is reactive, means that there will be some stress factor. Are you feeling that life is no more useful or interesting, is there any suicidal ideas, have you lost pleasure in previously pleasurable activities? We have to increase the dose of Zoloft (Sertraline) and you should start some psychotherapy sessions. You should take part in social gathering and develop interest. Start talking to friends and relatives about your problem without thinking about what they will think. Start physical activities and keep yourself busy. Do one thing that you think is interesting. Avoid loneliness.
