Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 35-year-old man who has been experiencing digestive issues for the past year. I have a habit of consuming oily and fried foods, and I feel my stomach is burning badly. Can you help me understand the role of diet in digestion and offer guidance on improving my digestive health? How does diet, especially the consumption of oily and fried foods, affect digestion? Are there specific dietary changes I can make to relieve my digestive issues? What role do healthy eating habits play in maintaining optimal digestive function? Can you suggest a balanced diet plan that promotes digestive health? Are there any tests or examinations to identify the root cause of my digestive problems?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I suggest you do the following to help with your digestive symptoms.

  1. Make sure you are well-hydrated. Take plenty of fluids.
  2. Regular walking, yoga, and exercise will help.
  3. Oily fried foods are high in carbohydrates and cholesterol and take time to get digested. Include lots of green leafy vegetables, fresh white fruits, and a fiber-rich diet.
  4. Stay away from fried, oily, junk, alcohol, non-vegetarian food, and smoking.

Oily foods can cause acidity, gastritis, burping, and heaviness in the abdomen, leading to stress on liver functions, and deposition of fatty foods in arteries, which may lead to cardiac arrest or high cholesterol.

I would also suggest you undergo an ultrasound of the abdomen or an upper endoscopy, liver function tests, and a lipid profile. May I know your height and weight? Are you currently taking any medication? Are you allergic to any medicine for blood pressure, sugar, thyroid, heart, or cholesterol ailments?

Kindly revert with the answers and reports for me to help you further.

Thank you.
