Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took 875 mg of Amoxicillin in six hours. I did not realize it was supposed to be over 12 hours until I was searching until now. It only said two times a day on the bottle. I also had 500 mg of Acetaminophen with it. Will I be fine?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

A dose of Amoxycillin at 20 years of age is around 1500 mg per day. This total of 1500 mg can be divided into two of approximately 750 mg or three doses of about 500 mg. You have taken the drug recommended in a whole day in six hours, and this will not cause any harm or side effect because when you take medicine for the first time the drug levels in the body are not maintained fully so if you take the drug in six hours, it will not cause any harm.

Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) is a drug for fever, which is usually given with Amoxicillin, and it has no drug reaction with Amoxicillin, so this will also have no effect on your body. In all, I think that you should not worry about this. Do not take any more Amoxicillin today. I hope this will help you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
