Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a fever (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) after four days of wisdom teeth extraction. The swelling has increased, there is still a little pain, and I see white stuff with a black dot near the extraction site. Is everything fine for me? I took Ibuprofen for three and a half days, but I stopped it because of stomach pain, dizziness, and fatigue.
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The white stuff is the blood clot and is normal. Do not touch the wound to allow proper healing and avoid infection. A warm salt water gargle twice a day for a week or two helps in fast healing. I suggest you consult a specialist and take the following medicines with their consent. An antibiotic like Augmentin thrice a day for five days and a painkiller like Ibuprofen or Acenext P (Aceclofenac and Paracetamol) three times a day. Take the medicines after meals to avoid indigestion. If the pain increases, you have a dry socket and should return to your dentist for a check-up.
I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again in case of further queries.
Thank you.
