Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I witnessed bleeding in my left ear all of a sudden. I have continuously listened to recordings and on phone calls for the last month to clarify what the other person is saying. I am using high volume. Please suggest.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your question was incomplete. Did you have pain, or are you having pain now? How much was the bleeding? Is there any swelling in and around the ear? Did someone hit you on your ear? Were you exposed to sudden loud sounds like a cracker? Did you use earbuds or put any other object in your ear? If the answer to all these questions is no, then we need to examine and evaluate the site from where it is bleeding and the cause of the bleeding.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

No swelling around the ear, not exposed to sudden sound, and I have not used any object. But when it was itching in the ear, I used earbuds afterward, and only I realized that my ear was bleeding. Two earbuds on both sides got wholly drenched with blood.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Do not worry; you might have accidentally injured your ear canal or eardrum. Keep some cotton in your ear. Most importantly, do not use buds or anything else in your ear. Do not use ear drops. If there is an eardrum injury, it will not heal. So take injection TT (Tetanus toxoid) from the nearby doctor and take these tablets Amoxicillin 500 mg, Zerodol (Aceclofenac, Serratiopeptidase, and Paracetamol), Levocetirizine 5 mg. When possible, consult an ENT surgeon nearby and get the status of the eardrum evaluated.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply,

Can I continue with my training where I have to use my head set head phones? My ear is intermittently bleeding.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I will suggest you not to use earphones or headphones. It is better to use mobile in speaker mode.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I got an endoscopy done for my ear. I have attached the endoscopy and prescription for your reference. She said everything would be alright, but I have had severe ear pain, headache, and blurred vision for the last three days. I got my sugar levels checked, and they are in control.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your left ear drum looks like perforation. There is a little congestion. Perforation edges do not look like fresh perforation. Keep cotton in the ear a little tight so air does not enter. If the pain is unbearable, you can take painkillers like the tablet Zerodol P (Aceclofenac and Paracetamol). Let us wait three months to see if the perforation closes by itself. If it does not, you may need surgery.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

What is the reason for headache and blurred vision? Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

That should be a migraine. That will also come down with the painkiller itself. There is no relation between ear drum perforation and blurring of vision, so we need not worry. Headache can be due to many reasons, including ear drum perforation. It resembles a migraine with symptoms such as headache, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, giddiness, etc.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
