How can a patient with vitamin deficiency overcome lethargy and stay healthy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Right from childhood, I did not eat healthy foods, but my parents insisted on having them, but I refused. But now I feel tired all the time, and I have many Vitamin deficiencies. However, I started having healthy food two months back, but everything has stayed the same. How to become healthy? How to rectify vitamin deficiencies? Kindly help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Have you got yourself tested for vitamin deficiencies? Then the treatment can be aimed at the deficient Vitamins. If you are looking at a lifestyle change, that will depend on your commitment, needs, work, and personal life patterns. I would suggest the following tests:

1. Complete blood counts, ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), and CRP (C-reactive protein).

2. Liver function tests.

3. Thyroid function tests

4. Vitamin D and B12.

5. Routine urine test.

6. Blood sugar test.

Thank you.
