Is it safe to use corticosteroids for my cheek's eczema?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have eczema. There is redness in my cheeks. I have used Corticosteroid cream for six days. Are there any side effects to using it?

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Corticosteroids should never be applied without a doctor's advice. Also, certain steroids should never be applied to the face.

If you could send me photos and details, I will be able to give you proper suggestions. Till then, do not use anything on your own. It does more harm than good.

Consult a dermatologist online for further treatment.

I hope this information helps you.

Feel free to ask further queries.

Thank you.
