Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
For a few months now, I have had brown and very dry patches that have appeared all over my body. And this causes repeated irritations and boils. This leaves me with constantly irritated skin. I have also noticed that it is starting to affect my genitals in the pubic area.
What can I do about it? I have looked on the internet about the onset of boils, it says there is an underlying problem like diabetes, but my sugar is normal. I am attaching the pictures for your reference.
Kindly give your opinion.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have reviewed your complaints and the attached images (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), but the pictures of the affected areas are not downloading.
According to your complaints, it seems a case of eczema. I recommend you take an antihistamine like Cetirizine 10 mg twice daily, apply topical steroids like Cortisone (Hydrocortisone) cream on the affected areas twice daily, and apply a moisturizing lotion containing white soft Paraffin on the entire body. Also, go for thyroid function tests. The medicines you are taking are antibiotics. They can be continued for five days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medicines with their consent.
I hope this was helpful.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
But for the genital areas, what should I do? It is very dry, hair does not grow anymore, and itchy. It is like a brown patch has replaced my skin. I am attaching the picture again.
Kindly give your opinion.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I have seen the picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), and this is a case of eczema.
For the dark areas on the genital skin, I suggest you apply a Kojic acid-based cream twice daily for six weeks. For hair, I suggest you take tablet Biotin 10 mg once daily after food for two months.
I hope this was helpful.
Thank you.
