What emergency contraceptive pill should I use if I have unprotected sex? Is it ok to start taking pills two weeks after I had menstruation?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I suggest you can have an emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. I suggest you take a tablet of Levonorgestrel (levonorgestrel and estradiol) 1.5 milligrams stat if not having any epilepsy. In the case of epilepsy, I suggest you increase the dosage to 3 milligrams to reduce the risk of failure. The copper-containing device can also be inserted and it can cover 120 hours after unprotected sex.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
