Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have erectile problems associated with a lack of sensitivity, and I would like to get some advice on the possible diagnosis and prognosis.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Relax and do not worry. If possible please elaborate about your symptoms more. What do you mean by lack of sensitivity? Do you have desire to have sex? Do you have erection in sleep? Is this lack of sensitivity sudden or gradual? Do you have any chronic disease like diabetes etc.? Do you smoke or consume alcohol? So lack of sensitivity could be because of chronic disease like diabetes or any trauma or surgery on penis. If you are smoker or alcoholic then there might be less blood supply in penis which can cause lack of sensitivity. If possible I want you to have colour doppler of penis test and also basic blood reports including diabetes reports. Generally prognosis is good if the causing factor is identified and treated accordingly. Meanwhile you can have tablet Tadalafil 10 mg before sexual intercourse. It will cause improvement. If you had any other test done please send me. Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a traumatic injury in my penis where I believe it may have stretched the nerve supply. This was ten weeks ago. I am still able to get erections but have completely lost all sensitivity to touch. I have had a nerve conduction study and evoked potential test on the dorsal nerve and pudendal nerve.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have seen reports sent by you (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Both the reports are fine, and you do not have any nerve damage at all. Although you had trauma, there is no nerve damage. Your loss of sensitivity is purely functional, and there is no physical damage to the penis or nerves. You have to give time and do not overthink it. There is no medicine required as there is no cause or damage. Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
