Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am currently facing erectile dysfunction, palpitations, occasional heartburn, and a consistently low blood pressure of 110/60 mm of Hg. Recent history of typhoid fever, but currently recovering.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Based on your reported issues, it appears you may be experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED), a condition where a person has difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection sufficient for sexual activity. The potential reasons for ED include:

  1. Work or family-related stress and night duties – consider incorporating regular exercise and yoga into your routine.

  2. Depression (feelings of prolonged sadness).

  3. Varicocele (enlargement of veins within the scrotum) – diagnosis through scrotum ultrasound.

  4. Fear of failure – experiencing one episode of ED may create anxiety about future occurrences.

  5. Low self-esteem (related to chronic masturbation).

  6. Homosexuality – not being attracted to the opposite sex.

  7. Religious constraints.

  8. Smoking and alcohol consumption.

  9. Long-term illnesses – such as cardiac, thyroid, or kidney diseases, require prolonged medication.

  10. Vitamin deficiency – I suggest using Zincovit (multivitamin and mineral supplement) and Shelcal (calcium) tablets.

  11. Negative attitude towards your partner.

  12. Hormonal issues – thyroid problems, low testosterone, increased prolactin.

  13. Long-term drug usage.

  14. Diabetes (elevated blood sugar levels) and hypertension (high blood pressure).

To further investigate, I suggest undergoing Doppler penis, USG (ultrasound) pelvis and scrotum, blood pressure, RBS (Random blood sugar), Free T3 (Triiodothyronine), T4 (Thyroxine), Testosterone, and TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) tests.

I suggest incorporating regular exercise and a balanced diet for a comprehensive approach

to address ED. The following exercises may be beneficial:

  1. Basic exercises: Kegels, Squats, Yoga, Running, or fast walking for five minutes.

  2. Missionary sex positions: Planks, Push-ups, Mountain Climbers, Glute Bridges.

  3. Standing sex position: Bicep Curls, Pull-ups, Jump Squats.

  4. Doggy style: Jump Squats, Walking Lunge.

  5. Cowgirl or girl on top: Glute Bridges, Leg Raises.

  6. Including certain foods in your diet can also be beneficial: Strawberries, apples, avocados, sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, almonds, garlic, and a small amount of chocolate.

For a temporary solution, I suggest considering using the tablet Maildfil (Tadalafil) 5 mg twice a day. Consult your doctor and take the medicine accordingly. It is crucial to share more details about the mentioned reasons to facilitate a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of any further queries so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
