Hello doctor,
My wife is a 33 year old female. She has spots of brownish skin discoloration over her right forearm, about 3.9"*2", not raised, not itchy. She does not have a history of medicine use, no recent investigations, not pregnant or lactating. She has no similar lesion elsewhere, nor does she have any other skin manifestations. Can I have your advice on diagnosis and possible treatment? Thanks in advance.

I have seen your query and concern.
With your descriptions, it is not clear the discoloration is in which form. Is this hypo? or hyperpigmented? or depigmented? One thing is clear that it is an asymptomatic macule. There are N number of macular diseases. I need a detailed history and possibly pictures if you can share. Please get a review with pictures for better evaluation and best possible treatment of your concern.

I have seen your query and examined your given picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It seems she had erythema ab igne or cutis marmorata. Erythema ab igne by reticular dermatoses. The cause may be due to direct heat contact.
I suggest using Mometasone cream twice daily and taking tablet Vitamin C once daily for two weeks after consulting your GP or nearby dermatologist. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start the medicines with their consent.
