Excess Sebum Production

Sebum is the oily or waxy substance that moisturizes and protects the skin and is produced by the oil-secreting or sebaceous glands. Sebum contains fatty acids, waxes, sugar, and other natural chemicals. Hormonal imbalance or medications, Parkinson's disease, and various other endocrinal conditions can lead to excess sebum production and oily looking skin.
