Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a history of masturbating a lot. I used to masturbate almost daily last year. I also thought that I was having ED but erections were okay. This year I have reduced the frequency to once a week. But recently I have noticed my penis shaft (below the penis head) has turned red and the redness has increased this week. I do not know what this redness is, this is not painful or irritating but something is there.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

As far as I can see and understand you may have inadvertently damaged a few blood capillaries during masturbation. The capillaries would have bled more than normal causing this discoloration. I do not think there is anything to worry about. If you have pain, itching, or a history of recent unprotected sex with a new partner then we will have to evaluate this further. In my opinion, I would suggest you wait for a few weeks, let things heal, avoid aggressive masturbation, and then reevaluate the situation.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
