Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have anxiety and depression. I suffer social anxiety, sweating beneath my armpits and buttocks while in public, overthinking circumstances that are not bad, slurred speech, horrible leg pains in the morning and afternoon, and insomnia that requires me to walk about the home or move my legs up and down the mattress. It has been going on for almost five years, but I have never felt confident enough to visit a doctor since I constantly sweat a lot and worry that people are criticizing me. I forget the two drugs I tried a year or so ago, but I am now taking Mirtazapine. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

You have anxiety and depressive disorder. There is non-pharmacological management for it, you should try to follow the below guidelines to deal with it. It will help you.

  • Try to do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes like going for a walk to boost your confidence.

  • Try to do meditation for 20 minutes daily. Sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing. Do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let them be. It will help you to relax and reduces anxiety.

  • Eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.

  • Try to drink enough water.

  • Try to spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family.

  • Try to spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills, language, or musical instruments.

  • Try to sleep enough for seven to eight hours daily.

  • Try to avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any substance abuse.

  • Live your life, do not just spend it. Be bold and confident.

  • I suggest you start the tablet Escitalopram 10 mg (Escitalopram oxalate) in the morning after breakfast and the tablet Clonazepam 0.5 mg at night.

However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
