Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Recently, I took out my bottom left wisdom tooth. I have got stitches over the extracted site. I have been taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen 400 mg. Still, I have pain in the extracted region. There is no pus coming out from the gums. It looks swollen, and it is not red. Is the pain normal? Please guide me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is not normal, and it is a sign of infection. There can be a root tip or a bony spicule left in the extracted site. Consult your dentist soon. Kindly take a radiograph of the extracted site soon and correct the problem if there is a presence of root tip or bony spicule in the extracted region. You can take tablet Ofloxacin 200 mg and Ornidazole 500 mg two times a day for five days.
