Does working nine hours a day on a computer promote excessive blood pressure, eye pressure, or mental illness?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have pressure around my eyes, which makes it difficult for me to focus and pay attention to what others are saying around me; my eyes do not move quickly enough; I have a significant depressive illness as well as high blood pressure; and my eye problem began gradually three years ago. I went to the government hospital, and they gave me a prescription for power glasses and advised me to do a perimetry test, which I did; please see the results and additional medications. I got glasses, therefore I am no longer having computer problems. I work nine hours a day on the computer at the workplace. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Your blood tests and perimetry are normal (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Your specs are also okay; however, I recommend making some lifestyle modifications. Walking, meditation, and dietary adjustments are among the examples. Take antioxidants and utilize lubricating eye drops regularly. For screen work, adopt the 20-20-20 rule. Everything is fine. Avoid getting concerned.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Are there any prescription eye drops that may be used to treat eye pressure? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Aditi Dubey

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I did not observe the ocular pressure measurement stated in your prescription. Could you please get your IOP (intra-ocular pressure) measured? Then, if necessary, we can begin some meditation. Use lubricating eye drops till then.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
