Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 16-year-old female, and I am concerned about the fainting episodes that I experience. About a year ago, I fainted, feeling hot and dizzy before losing consciousness. Recently, while walking on train tracks with friends, I felt extremely hot, dizzy, and my vision changed. I was afraid of fainting and falling on the rocks, so I focused on breathing and did not tell my friends about it. The last time I felt this way was after giving birth, and my temperature was 104°F, but this time it was even worse. I am approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and weigh around 227 pounds. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your health concerns, and it is essential to address them properly.

Dizziness and fainting can have various causes, ranging from benign to potentially serious conditions. If these episodes are recurrent, a comprehensive evaluation is necessary to determine the underlying cause.

Common factors contributing to dizziness and fainting include low hemoglobin levels, low blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemia, valvular heart diseases, heart rhythm disturbances, neurological conditions, and even anxiety and stress.

To accurately diagnose the issue, it is crucial to undergo a thorough physical examination by a physician and do relevant investigations, such as checking hemoglobin levels, doing random blood sugar testing, blood pressure assessment, and an electrocardiogram (ECG).

In the meantime, it is advisable to avoid stressful situations and take care of your overall well-being. I recommend you consult a physician and undergo a proper evaluation and receive appropriate guidance based on your specific health condition.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
