Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 32-year-old, and I did a test for seminal fluid for fertility, and the count was 70 million/ml. The doctor only gave me vitamins for three months. Would it improve my chances of having a baby, or do I need something more? Note that my wife's doctor suggested artificial insemination. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You can have babies, but not by having that vitamin tablet. There is a good count, so the testis usually is producing sperm. Artificial insemination is the treatment if you are not able to have good sex. If you sow a weak seed, the plant will be weak or may die early. Similarly, if the sperm is not healthy, the baby formed is not healthy, so it will not sit in the uterus. Even if it does, it may not be healthy and may abort. There is no significant infection in semen, but RBC (red blood cells) seen, so there could be an old infection. Your symptoms could be less timing of sex and no control over ejaculation.

You and your partner can have:

1. Take a 150 mg tablet of Fluconazole after lunch.

2. Take a tablet of Azithromycin 1 gm stat one hour before food.

3. Take a tablet of Secnidazole forte after dinner.

After finishing these medicines of 20 days, masturbate once, and after three to six days, recheck your semen. You will see the difference in motility. An increase in body weight and fat will keep the testis deeper in the body, so the health of the sperm will not be good. Have a controlled, low-calorie diet and regular exercise.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
