Hi doctor,

My wife is 13 weeks and six days pregnant. We have done an ultrasound test; the results are attached to this query.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I have gone through your reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Please send me her detailed ultrasound report here.

Basal bone is measured at a specific view of a very small fetus at an early age. Therefore, it could differ in measurement as per its view in the scan. As suggested, having a double marker test is better as I need to learn about your family history regarding the anomalies. A proper anomaly scan is in which all body parts except the heart's outflow tract, which is to be seen on the 22nd week, around the 20th week to be done with expert hands, and the nasal bone will be more clear on scanning for any anomaly. At the 22nd-week heart outflow tract can be seen more clearly.

I suggest you to take a double marker test for the safe side. Nuchal translucency, mother's age, family history, and double marker test all have points for specific trisomies. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medication with consent.

Please follow up for further assistance.

Thank you.
